William Hill’s Lucky 7
** OFFER EXPIRED **
Weekly prizes up for grabs
William Hill’s Lucky 7 promotion gives horse racing punters a chance to scoop a stunning £50,000 prize pot and it’s an offer that has certainly attracted a share of attention since its launch.
Open to both new and existing customers all you have to do is pick the winner of seven horse races and you’ll have a life-changed 50k dropped into you bank account. OK, we know that’s easier said than done but it has got us excited.
Get a free shot at landing £50,000
Whether you’re a penny punter who likes to dabble in racing accumulators on a Saturday to pass the afternoon or a dedicated follower of the sport of kings, William Hill’s Lucky 7 is worth a try. Traders will put forward a selection of races each week for you to have your say on and if you study the form, have a hot tip from the inside or simply strike it lucky with a couple of random picks you’ll be on-course to land the prizepot.
What’s also worth noting about this promotion is it’s not a winner-takes-all deal. The team at William Hill know they have set you a tough task but as well as making available a prize worth winning there’s also a weekly reward for the best performing player if the jackpot has not been claimed.
The best bit – it’s free
Fail to predict the winner of each of the seven legs? You’re not out of the running just yet. If the Lucky 7 total isn’t won, WH will pay a cool £1000 to the punter who goes closest, keeping you in the mix for a consolation prize. Hit the bar with four or five correct calls and you’ll be gutted the £50,000 was just out of your grasp. So near, yet so far.
Well, not exactly. If no one was able to do any better than you on any given week you could have a surprise grand dropped into your account. That will come in useful. You’d deserve it too. Picking one winner a day in horse racing is tough, go on a run and no one would grudge you a chunky cheque for your troubles.
To throw your hat into the ring all you have to do is log-on to the William Hill website or app and access the Lucky 7 tab. Once there you’ll be prompted to make your seven picks from the races previously decided by traders and submit your entry to the competition.
If you have a change of heart they’ll even allow you to go in and edit your picks up until the closing time and date, but not after. When the shutters are down on that one they stay down, which is a bit of a pain if your best has since become a non-runner but in those circumstances you’ll be moved onto the SP favourite, similar to the rules of Tote bets such as Placepots.
Any race that doesn’t go ahead, such as an abandoned meeting, the leg will become void, but the competition entry will stand. As you might expect, that’ll have an impact on the prize. One void race and the pot will reduce to £5000, two void races and we’ll be down to £1000. Three or more and all bets are off.
So, how much will it cost you to play fortune teller and have a shot at £50,000? The best news of all is it’s completely free to enter. You are limited to one entry per person/account. If lady luck is smiling on more than one player the jackpot will be split equally between the winners.
