The Open Golf Championship 2016
The British Open Golf Championship 2016
It’s nearly time for another major of the golfing calendar, and this time all eyes will be on the Western coast of Scotland for the Scottish Open at Royal Troon golf club. A superb course South West of Glasgow always makes for 72 fascinating holes of golf, and already there are some fantastic enhanced odds available:
It’s still early days and not all the bookies have got all the markets priced up just yet. But we’ll do the checking for you and you can be sure that this page will be updated with all the top promotions as they are released. So you can grab one of the offers above or check back a bit nearer the time for the complete promo list.
The Open Golf Championship preview
After missing the tournament last year, the good news is that Rory McIlroy will be back on the course this year. Last year the story was supposed to be all about his rivalry with American Jordan Spieth, but in the end it was Zach Johnson who was triumphant, winning after a playoff. Spieth was 4th, just missing out. This time round there are several genuine contenders for the claret jug. The rise of Dustin Johnson and Jason Day in particular mean they are likely to be right up the top of the leaderboard going into the final rounds. The bookies are struggling to pick a favourite here, with all four of the top golfers generally available at around 9/1. As you see from the enhanced odds above though, there’s much better value available if you want to grab it!
As ever though, it’s a large and strong field that will take to the course on Thursday 14th July 2016. If McIlroy is to regain his crown he’ll have some serious competition from the field. If you are an avid golf fan you’ll know that this sort of tournament is one that genuinely can be won by anyone, and as a result there’s always great value in the betting. A lot of golfing punters like to choose a number of each way bets, and you’ll find a number of bookies that are willing to pay out on 6 places here. There’s every chance a 50/1 or 100/1 shot will end up in the top 6, so some big payouts are certainly possible!
Even looking at the top of the field, backing any one of the top 4 each way would seem a pretty solid bet given their recent dominance in the big golf championships so far this year. But we’re not golf tipsters so we’ll leave the selections up to you, just make sure you take advantage of one of the enhanced odds promos for the Open Championship before you place your bet.
